5 Exercises That'll Keep Your Face Flexible and Young


There are actions we do or have done in the past that we often try to avoid due to others making comments or high self-awareness, such as raising an eyebrow in an exaggerated way, sucking a finger, or smiling from ear to ear. However, it turns out that these movements are healthy and vital to our facial muscles (up to a limit) and by practicing them we can prevent the formation of wrinkles, and help/conceal those that already exist. So, before you run to the store to stock up on anti-aging products and all kinds of injections and various treatments, you should first try the following five exercises to help strengthen these crucial muscles!

 

1. Blinking and pursing of the lips

In this case, the sentence "blink and you missed it" is wrong, and should be changed to "blink and you caught it." This is because the act of blinking and pursing the lips helps strengthen many muscles in the face, especially those in the center, and you only benefit from this action.

How to perform the exercise

  • Relax the facial muscles and close your eyes.
  • Now, close your eyes tightly so that your eyebrows move downward.
  • While the eyes are scrunched, purse your lips as if you were about to kiss someone, and at the same time such them in.
  • Stay that way for 1-2 seconds and release, repeat 5 times.

2. Smile

It isn’t for nothing they say that smiles are magic, because with the next exercise you can strengthen your chewing, cheek and jaw muscles, and a few muscles in the neck and face that you may not have known even existed.

How to perform the exercise

  • Relax your facial muscles and slowly start smiling so that you feel the muscles stretch as much as possible, all with your lips sealed.
  • Now, expose your teeth and make sure they are tightly closed.
  • Smile as wide as you can, and as soon as you feel that you can’t stretch the smile anymore, slowly release the stretch.
  • You have to stop a little at every step of the process until you have a full smile, and when you are in your full smile phase, hold for 10 seconds and release slowly.
  • Repeat 7 times.

3. Kiss

Since childhood, we’ve been told that kissed heal all, and indeed the next exercise helps us overcome cases where one’s lips look pale and colorless, and the muscles of the cheeks are slightly loose.

How to perform the exercise

  • Make sure your lips are loose and relaxed.
  • Bring your lips slowly forward together, and pause in this position for 1-2 seconds.
  • Now stretch your lips out bringing them into your mouth while keeping them closed. Press firmly for 2-3 seconds and release the pressure in your lips to a strong smile.
  • hold for about 5 seconds and repeat the action 5-8 times.

4. Finger sucking

A finger in the mouth may seem unpleasant, but it turns out to be very essential and healthy for your facial, jaw, cheek and neck muscles.

How to perform the exercise

  • First, wash your hands with soap.
  • Close your mouth and relax your lips.
  • Insert the first joint of your thumb into your mouth and suck it as hard as you can.
  • While doing so, try to slowly remove the thumb from your mouth while creating a vacuum.
  • Repeat the exercise 10 times

5. Eyebrow lift

Whether the results of these exercises surprised you or not, you are fully invited to raise eyebrows and even use your hands, because with the following exercise you can strengthen the muscles around the eyes and in doing so prevent drooping eyelids.

How to perform the exercise

  • Sit upright and look forward.
  • Place your right finger on your right eyebrow in the first third closest to the ear, do the same with left hand on your left brow.
  • Now, gently press and raise your eyebrows upwards so that they lift up, and at the same time turn your eyes and look down.
  • Hold 3-5 seconds and repeat 10 times.
