Ritz’s parent company, Mondalez Global is issuing the recall due to concerns about salmonella contamination. This affects products that are being sold in the US, Puerto Rico, and the Virgin Islands.
One of the ingredients, whey, could possibly be tainted with the bacteria. To date, no illnesses or deaths have been reported in connection with any Ritz products, but consumers are being kindly asked to dispose of any products that they might have.
Symptoms of salmonella include diarrhea, abdominal pain, fever, fatigue, chills, or nausea. If you suspect that you have this illness, make an appointment with your doctor immediately.
