I knew that soft drinks are unhealthy, but I had no idea Coca-Cola could do this to someone’s body in such a short space of time! The story of this guy is truly shocking...
George Prior, a 50-year-old resident of Los Angeles, decided to drink 10 cans of Coca-Cola per day as part of an experiment to see the effect it would have on his body.
As his previously muscular, healthy physique disappeared, he gained two stone in weight, complete with a protruding belly. His blood pressure also soared to an unhealthy 145/96 and he also developed intense sugar cravings.
Mr. Prior undertook the experiment to raise awareness of the harmful effects of high levels of sugar found in soft drinks. He saw drastic changes in his body in just a 30-day period, and his exposure to the risk of heart disease and strokes was greatly increased.
He drank more than three liters of coke on each day of the experiment and put on 23lbs in additional weight throughout its duration. When he attempted to revert back to his usual healthy diet, he was taken aback by the intense sugar cravings he began to experience.

Mr. Prior's motivation was to stir up debate to get people thinking and talking about how much sugar they are consuming each day, and the severe health consequences of consuming sugar in excess.
Soft drinks such as Coca-Cola have been found to contribute to type 2 diabetes and tooth decay in past research, especially in children. Mr. Prior added that, in his opinion, children shouldn’t drink soft drinks at all due to the adverse effects on their health.
