We all know the tendency of pretentious restaurants to serve meals that are way too small on plates that are far too big, but honestly, we’ll take big plates any day of the week over the new trend in pompous food shacks: doing away with the plate completely in favor of completely ridiculous and impractical servings. How bad can it get? Really, really bad.
1. Bacon hanging on a clothesline to dry
2. Shrimp ceviche served in a beer can
3. Veggie burger and nachos on the back of an electric guitar
4. To be fair, the fries and hot dog do look like they belong there
5. Steak served on a heated curved rock. How are you supposed to cut it? Who knows
6. Never show this to an Italian: pasta served in paper cones
7. Next level serving: trapping fries in their own steam so they can get soggy, just like everyone loves them
8. Ice cream in a flower pot
9. Oysters on a brick
10. English breakfast on a shovel
11. Peanuts inside a purse
12. Onion rings on a funnel
13. And just how are you supposed to eat these tacos? Slurp them down?
14. Caesar salad… in a spaghetti strainer
15. Dessert served in a sink. A SINK
16. I give up
17. Seafood served on a cramped aquarium with a still-living fish
