Mother's Day is a special day that is set aside to honor the beloved mothers in our family. The holiday's origins date back to 1905 when Anna Jarvis campaigned in 1905 to make Mother's Day an official holiday in America. Her mother, a peace activist who tended to injured soldiers during the American Civil War, had passed away that same year and she wanted to commemorate her good deeds. The proposal was originally rejected, until 1911, when Mother's Day was officially recognized as a holiday. Not all of us have the privilege of being with our Mom's this Sunday. So, whatever your plans may be, send a wonderful greeting card to all the mother's you know.
