Malaria is an ancient parasitic disease that infects 200 million people every year. It is the leading cause of death in children under age 5. While malaria treatments are available, they are extremely scarce and hard on the body. Preventative methods, like nets to protect from mosquitos carrying the disease, are also present, but they are not effective enough.
