How Jesters Really Lived Their Lives in the Middle Ages

Jesters, the entertainers of Medieval kings known for the stereotypical multi-colored costume, lived a far more complex life than we knew. In fact, most of what we have seen on television and in other fictional stories is highly inaccurate. Not only did most jesters not adorn the typical tunic, but they were also highly educated, important entertainers and speakers in the court performing dangerous feats and even riding alongside soldiers in the battlefield distracting oncoming enemies!
