You might find it difficult to go to a holiday destination this summer that your whole family can enjoy but I have just the solution for you! Water parks and resorts are enjoyable no matter who you are, and what's your age. You can spend your day relaxing by the pool or going down slides, throwing water high up in the air and squealing for joy. To give you some idea of how amazing these places can be, here are the 10 of the best water parks in the world:
1. Siam Park, Adeje, Spain |
Siam Park claims to be the most spectacular water attraction in Europe and it has a lot going for it to support this claim. The park includes Thai themes fpr all of its rides, buildings, and restaurants, they make for the largest collection of Thai-themed buildings outside Thailand itself! It features many great rides like the Dragon (a slide with a light show inside the funnel) and the Wave Palace (a wave pool with an artificial white sand beach). |
2. Beach Park, Aquiraz, Brazil |
This is one of the leading tourist attractions in Brazil, and the largest water park in Latin America. Each year more than 1 million people visit Beach Park and its many resorts hotels and dining options. The park offer anything from the calm Acqua Circo, a water playground full of cannons, jets, fountains and slides and to the extreme Insanos, a 135-feet (41 meters) tall water slide. |
3. Disney's Blizzard Beach, Lake Buena Vista, Florida |
In 2012 this was the second most visited water park in the world, behind its sister park, Typhoon Lagoon, which we will speak of later. As the name implies, this water park has a 'frozen' theme to it. According to Disney "legend", a freak snowstorm in the area led to the development of Florida's first ski resort. One of the best things about this park in my opinion, is that most of the rides in the park have at least two nearly identical tracks. This makes them perfect for some friendly water racing! |
4. Disney's Typhoon Lagoon Water Park, Lake Buena Vista, Florida |
The most popular waterpark in the world. The park opened in 1989 and is home to one of the world's largest outdoor wave pools, and the iconic "Miss Tilly," a shrimp boat impaled upon a mountain in the center of the park. From a casual picnic to surf lessons in high waves, there isn’t much you can't do here. |
5. Waterbom Bali, Kuta, Indonesia |
Relax in the sun, eat in the shade and play in the waters of this Indonesian oasis. The park prides itself on being the benchmark for social responsibly, cultural sensitivity and environmental awareness. With its Pipeline side, which offers a stunning panoramic view or the area, and the relaxing Lazy River tube ride, it is considerd to be one of the best amusement park in Asia. |
6. Wild Wadi Water Park, Dubai, United Arab Emirates |
Wild Wadi is themed around the tale of Juha, a famous character from the Arabian folklore and has 30 rides and attractions suitable for the whole family. One of the more interesting rides is the aquatic roller coaster called "Master Blasters", something every true water park lover has to experience. |
7. Hot Park, Rio Quente, Brazil |
Its might be a bit too busy for some people, but a visit to Hot Park isn’t something you want to turn down so quickly. The park is a gigantic complex with a large range of water slides, including the famous giant half pipe. Other attractions in the park like a visit to the zoo will cost you extra, but the attractions covered by the entrance fee are more than enough to fill a day. |
8. Aquaventure Waterpark, Dubai, United Arab Emirates |
Part of the Atlantis Hotel and Resort on the artificial Palm Island of Dubai, this water park is probably the best looking one in the world. The 17 ha (42 acres) park has twelve water slides and a long river ride with cascades, tidal waves and rapids. There are two Mesopotamian-styled ziggurat temples featuring water slides which catapult riders into clear tubes, through a shark filled lagoon. The Lost Chambers is an aquarium exhibit with over 65,000 fish and sea creatures including the Ambassador Lagoon, which is an 11-million liter marine habitat. |
9. Aquatica, Orlando, Florida |
The a sister park of SeaWorld Orlando and Discovery Cove, Aquatica Orlando features a wide array of attractions for all ages and swimming abilities. Some of them even pass by or through the animal habitats. The park's signature attraction is the Dolphin Plunge, two enclosed tube slides that pass through a pool containing a pod of Commerson's dolphins named Fabio, Pepe, and Ross. |
10. Aquaventure Waterpark, Paradise Island, Bahamas |
The Atlantis Paradise Island resort in the Bahamas officially opened in 1998 and immediately became a huge success. The 200 million US gallon (760,000 m3) Aquaventure Park opened later in 2007 and is one of the most state of the art water parks in the world. The centerpiece of the attraction is the Power Tower, which contains four waterslides: The Abyss, The Drop, The Falls and the mighty Surge. |
