Reprogram Your Subconscious to Develop as a Person

The concept of the subconscious is familiar to most of us as the thing that controls our dreams, but this is far from its only role. It has immense power in controlling our life experiences as well - from the type of food we like to eat, through our daily activities, the level of income we earn, and even the various ways we respond to stress. All these things are directly influenced by our subconscious beliefs and interpretations. They have a significant impact on our lives, even if we don't recognize or know their nature. The subconscious can be compared to an autopilot that operates in an airplane: it is programmed to follow a specific travel route, and it cannot deviate from it or recalibrate until instructed to do so.

But how can this reprogramming be done? How can we divert our lives from their routine course and start living them to the fullest? In the following article, we will give you some tips on the subject. We will also explain a bit more about the subconscious, how it works, and in which situations you should change it.

How to Reprogram Your Subconscious

What is the subconscious and why might it hinder our progress?

Our subconscious (or as it is called in professional language "unconscious") is a concept from the theory of Sigmund Freud, who divided the human soul into 3 parts: the conscious - what is currently in our awareness, the preconscious - what is not currently in our thoughts but may appear in the future, and the subconscious - all those feelings, urges, and desires that will never explicitly come to our minds, but will remain deeply buried in the depths of the soul, in what psychologists liken to a "psychological basement."

But the fact that these feelings are deeply embedded in our soul does not mean they don't emerge and seep into our conscious lives; on the contrary - it happens all the time, only we are not able to fully recognize them. Take, for example, this moment when you are reading this article: your conscious mind is currently busy scanning the words and absorbing their meaning, but beneath that mental effort and focus you feel, the subconscious is operating in full force, absorbing or repelling information, based on existing perceptions it has about the world around you.

How to Reprogram Your Subconscious

The perception that exists within the subconscious begins to take shape at the dawn of our childhood. Our subconscious absorbs all the experiences we go through and regards them as absolute truth since there are no prior beliefs that can contradict what is being received. You can probably understand now why this can be a problem later in life - because everything you heard in childhood, whether from family members, friends, or anyone in your environment, was accepted as true even if it was negative or inaccurate. If you received messages from your surroundings that you were not smart enough, not fast enough, not capable of trying hard enough, and so on - everything was stored and encoded in the depths of your subconscious.

It is entirely possible that those negative and belittling messages and criticisms you heard in your childhood have become ingrained in your subconscious, and despite the belief that "the past should be left in the past" - they cannot simply be canceled or erased. They resurface and seep into our consciousness at crucial moments, limiting our progress, and preventing us from creating a more balanced, successful, and productive life. They are the ones blocking us from realizing our true and full potential, and that is why it is so important to undergo the reprogramming process of the subconscious - to open the door to self-fulfillment.

Introducing 5 Methods for Reprogramming the Subconscious

There are several methods to overcome the limiting and harmful messages stored in your subconscious, and we will now present 5 that are especially recommended. You can try all of these strategies together. However, you should know that it will be easier and more appropriate to choose one or two of them, start with them, and examine the results. It may be better for you to give your full attention and focus on using specific techniques, rather than jumping and skipping between several methods without a clear central benefit.

1. Environmental Influences

Have you ever thought about the effects of your environment on your subconscious? It is likely that you haven't because until now it wasn't clear to you how it works. Even if so, perhaps you didn't connect your environment to its operation. If so, you must now remember that as we said, the subconscious continuously absorbs and assimilates information, drawing conclusions and creating certain beliefs based on this information. Therefore, if the environment you are in is full of negativity and conflict, you can now understand which messages are embedded in you.

Therefore, the first step you need to take is to clearly limit the amount of negativity you are exposed to, from now on; avoid constantly and excessively consuming news, but do so only in a measured manner, and avoid spending your time with "toxic" people, those who harm and damage you. Instead, look for positive things to read and watch and invest your time hanging out with positive people. If you behave this way, you will be able to see that over time, encouraging and empowering messages are embedded in your mind. These messages will change the way you see yourself and your potential.

2. Visualization Meditation

Our subconscious tends to respond well to images and visual representations. Therefore, the method of visualization meditation can be an excellent way to reprogram your mind with positive and empowering images. How do you do this? Simply try to imagine, for no more than 10-15 minutes a day, scenes and positive images that will enrich you and your life experience. Here are some examples of things you can imagine:

  • A satisfying relationship
  • A job you are longing for
  • A well-groomed home
  • An exotic vacation

And any other thing you hope will happen in your life.

To further strengthen these thoughts, allow strong positive emotions to enter and envelop you while imagining these wonderful things in your mind. Let feelings of love, happiness, gratitude, and true peace influence you, just as if you were really experiencing the things you see in your head.

Your subconscious will absorb these messages if you feel they are real, and this is the beauty of this method: it has the power to bypass the limiting messages absorbed in you in the past and focus on those enjoyable images that are embedded into your subconscious and can return to you later until they manifest in reality.

3. Self-affirmations

The self-affirmation method is another effective way to "implant" positive messages in your subconscious mind, and it works best if you apply a few simple rules: Phrase them positively and in the present tense - tell yourself "I am confident and successful" instead of "I will be confident and successful," as focusing on the future does not connect with your subconscious mind - it only recognizes the present and the current moment. Also, focus on positive statements about yourself - try to think about what you are, not what you are not. Don't reinforce yourself with a statement like: "I am not a failure," because, in your subconscious, which does not capture the negative aspect, such a statement is perceived as "I am a failure."

Match your feelings to the affirmation - if you tell yourself "I live in financial abundance" while feeling poor, it sends contradictory messages to your subconscious. No matter what words you say to yourself, make sure you feel the corresponding emotions, as this makes the subconscious more open to believing them. Repeat things over and over - self-affirmations don't work if you only say them to yourself once or twice and stop. Repeat them several times throughout the day for the best results, and they will also become part of your daily routine.

4. Listen to your fears and define them for yourselves

Many a time, it's difficult for us not only to confront our fears but even to define them for ourselves. In this way, we will certainly not be able to defeat them. To begin and change your subconscious mind and put it through the process of reprogramming, you must first define what your fears are, and then face them.

For example, if you want to change your profession or advance to an entirely different job, but you don't do it because of all kinds of vague and unclear fears that stop you, first start by defining for yourself what those fears are that cause you to do so. Check what in the field you want to work in discourages you, or what in your past experiences stops you from pursuing it; Don't even be ashamed to make a careful list of these fears. In this way, you will be able to manipulate your life better, get to know your fears, and understand how to overcome them - whether it is by taking the steps you are afraid of, or bypassing them in other and better ways.

5. Brainwave entrainment with binaural frequencies

Though it may seem like something from a sci-fi movie, many people claim that this popular technique has been beneficial to them and has filled them with positivity. The method involves listening to recordings of binaural frequencies through headphones, which are intended to alter brain waves. Brain waves are electrical signal patterns that flow through our minds at any given moment. They operate at a particular frequency based on the activity we are involved in. There are different types of brain waves for various situations, such as Gamma waves during high-effort activities, Beta waves during daily activities, Alpha waves during relaxation, Theta waves when feeling drowsy, and Delta waves during deep sleep.

When two different frequencies are played each to a different ear, they create binaural frequencies. These frequencies cause brain waves to shift from one pattern to another. For instance, if someone wishes to transition from a tense and stressed state to a relaxed state, they can tune into a recording of binaural frequencies. This will stimulate alpha waves in the brain. Listening to such frequencies can help reprogram the subconscious mind by creating a receptive space that absorbs positive messages. Studies show that the subconscious mind is more open to new information when a person is relaxed and calm, with brain waves oriented towards Alpha or Theta. To achieve this state, one can listen to the appropriate binaural frequencies available in the video below.

Using the brainwave entrainment method together with other methods we mentioned here, such as affirmations or visualization, can be a powerful combination for you, as it allows you to lower your subconscious defenses and properly embed those messages that will help your inner forces break through without barriers from the past and from the depths of the soul. Good luck!
