Lake Toba was once the site of the largest volcanic eruption on Earth but is known today as the largest lake in South East Asia. Located in North Sumatra, Indonesia, Lake Toba is almost like an ocean, with a size of over 1,145 square km (442 square miles), and a depth of 450 meters (1,476 ft).
