Homemade Teriyaki Sauce

This Asian sauce is really delicious in chicken dishes. Teriyaki sauce is famous for its savory-salty-sweet flavor. It primarily consists of soy sauce, brown sugar, garlic, ginger, honey, and mirin. Apart from providing a salty-sweet flavor to grilled meats and vegetables, Teriyaki also adds an amber-colored gloss to them. While it goes best with grilled chicken, the sauce can also be used in place of barbecue sauce on ribs.

Homemade Teriyaki Sauce
Ingredients for Teriyaki Sauce:
Water - 1/4 cup
Sweet rice wine - 2 tbsp.
White sugar - 1/4 cup
Garlic - 1 /2 tsp. (crushed )
Ginger - 1 1/2 tsp. (crushed)
Method of preparing the Teriyaki Sauce:
  1. Mix all the ingredients in a small pot.
  2. Heat the ingredients over a medium flame, until the sugar is completely dissolved. Let the sauce cool.
  3. This sauce will stay fresh for 1-2 weeks.
