Easy Carne Asada

Can you think of a steak any better than a perfectly marinated and grilled Carne Asada. This version of the Baja Mexican classic is not only authentic and delicious, it is mess-free thanks to this delicious marinating hack! Curious to know how it's done? Just mix the marinade up in a resealable zip-top bag. To do so, just follow this simple recipe:

Easy Carne Asada
Ingredients:
Steak - 2 Ibs. (Flank, Hanger or Skirt steak, trimmed)
Lime juice - 2 tbsp. (about 2 limes)
Orange juice - 1/2 cup
Garlic - 4-6 cloves (minced)
Jalapeño - 1 (minced)
Olive oil - 3 tbsp.
Chili powder - 1 tbsp.
White vinegar - 1 tbsp.
Cilantro - 1 cup (chopped fresh)
Kosher salt - to taste
Ground black pepper - to taste
Method of Preparation:
  1. Place the steak in a gallon-sized reusable bag. Add the lime juice, orange juice, garlic, jalapeño, olive oil, chili powder, white vinegar, cilantro, salt, and ground black pepper. Before tightly sealing the bag, remove any excess air. 
  2. Gently massage the steak in the marinade, ensuring it is fully coated and allow the steak to marinate in the refrigerator for at least two hours, or overnight.
  3. Remove the steak from a reusable bag and discard the excess marinade. Heat a grill or grill a pan on high and once hot, cook the steak to your liking until it is done.
  4. After cooking allow the steak to rest for 5-10 minutes before slicing against the grain. Serve warm.
