What makes this recipe exceptionally easy, despite the use of dough, is the mushrooms. They are one of the most forgiving vegetables when it comes to cooking- they're simply almost impossible to destroy.

Ingredients for pastries:
Thyme - 2 sprigs, 2 tbsp.
Method of preparing the pastries:
-
Heat the oil and butter in a pan. When they shimmer, add the mushrooms and the thyme. Cook for 10 minutes.
-
Add the garlic and pepper and after a minute's cooking, remove from heat and add the vinegar. Discard the thyme.
-
Preheat oven to 400°F. Thaw the dough. Cut it to create 9 squares, 3x3''. Arrange them, evenly spaced, on a lined baking sheet.
-
Lightly score a ½-inch border around the edges of each square, making sure not to cut all the way through. Brush the edges with egg wash.
-
Fill the square with grated cheese, a spoonful of the mushroom mix and another topping of cheese.
-
Bake for 15-20 minutes or until golden brown and puffy. You can garnish with some thyme.
