Don't have apples? Pears work as well!
Ingredients for caramel dip:
Method of preparing the caramel dip:
-
Take the cream cheese out of the fridge to let it come to room temperature. Core and slice the apples. If you'd like, you can also peel them.
-
On a low flame, cook the sugar, water, and lemon juice, until the mixture turns brown.
-
To serve, arrange the apple slices on the plate or tray, pour the cream cheese into a small dip-dish, and drizzle the caramel over the apples. You can give it a little chill in the fridge before serving, to let the caramel set. Top with the nuts.
Chef's Tip:
If you don't serve the apples immediately, you can keep them in a container with water and a little lemon juice to prevent oxidation and browning. For ease of serving, stick a toothpick in each slice.
