Light and fluffy, these vegan donut balls are a hot take on the store-bought donut. They will go well dipped in jam, cream or powdered sugar. Call the kids to devour them straight off the pot!
Whisk together the flour, sugar, dry spices, salt and baking powder. In a separate bowl, whisk together the wet ingredients and the apples.
Combine the wet ingredients slowly into the dry ingredients until you have a smooth, runny paste.
Heat the oil and prepare for deep fry. To check if it's hot enough, drizzle a drop of the batter into the oil. If it shimmers and sizzles immediately- the oil is ready.
With the help of an ice cream scoop or a 1/4 cup measure, dump balls into the oil.
They should flip by themselves. If they don't, give them a little flip with a spoon. Let them fry for 5 minutes are remove to a cooling rack.
Mix all sauce ingredients together and drizzle over the donut balls to serve.
