Did you know that cream cheese works both in savory and sweet recipes? It's true, and this creamy chicken recipe is evidence. This one-pot meal is ready in around half an hour, and you can serve it alongside baked vegetables, potatoes, or pasta.
Method of preparing the Easy Cream Cheese Chicken:
Pat dry the chicken breasts with paper towels and season with salt and black pepper.
In a large frying pan, heat up olive oil over medium-high. Cook the chicken on both sides until golden but not fully cooked. Set aside.
Reduce the heat to medium-low. To the same pan, add the onion and garlic. If needed, add more oil, and cook the onions until tender. Then add 1/2 cup dry white wine and simmer, frequently stirring for another minute.
To the same pan, add the chicken broth, cream cheese, mustard, 1/4 teaspoon black pepper, and 1/2 teaspoon kosher salt. Simmer the sauce until the cream cheese is melted and the sauce becomes smooth.
Transfer the chicken back to the pan and bring the sauce back to a simmer. Then cover with a lid and continue cooking until the chicken is completely cooked. This should take around 3-5 minutes.
Garnish the chicken with dill and sprinkle with red pepper flakes. Serve with a side dish of your choice.
