Although Lemuel Gulliver's vivid and detailed style of narration makes it clear that he is intelligent and well educated, a man who loves nothing more than adventure, and will do anything to experience it and discover new things he never knew before. His perceptions are usually a bit naïve as he is a being of good will and morality, and yet he is exploited again and again on his travels by little people, giants, scholars and weird beings. <br><br>Like Gulliver, you yearn for adventure in your life, be it in the form of passion, romance, obsession, discovery or victory - you yearn for things to change and be exciting. However, you sometimes find yourself to be a bit deluded about these things, who often don't live up to the way you dreamed them up to be. The risk for you is losing things that are good and comfortable to you when looking for the next best thing.
Captain Ahab (Moby Dick)
Ahab, the Pequod's obsessed captain, represents an ancient type of hero. Like the heroes of Greek or Shakespearean tragedy, Ahab suffers from a single fatal flaw, one he shares with such legendary characters as Oedipus and Faust. He's great flaw is his obsession. In his goal to kill the whale, Ahab throws away everything he has - his ship, his friendships, his trust, his reputation and eventually - his life. However, he is also a man of great will, enormous strength and a fiercely independent thinker. Ahab would not bow before anyone else's judgement of his actions. <br><br>Like Captain Ahab, you too can become stubborn beyond belief when you are chasing a goal. You work hard and do whatever is needed to achieve it. But no matter what is costs you, you leave regrets to others. Your face is turned forward. The risks in this kind of life are clear in the story of Moby Dick - you may end up sacrificing too much for some virtual goal. However, sublimated and used in the right way, this kind of sheer will and determination can move mountains.
Atticus Finch (To Kill a Mockingbird)
Atticus Finch is a lawyer and major character in To Kill a Mockingbird. He is the most moral and good person in that novel, and is often seen as brave, honorable, respectful to others, wise, compassionate and thoughtful. This is a person who believes that the world should be a just place, with justice for all. <br><br>Like Atticus, you are a really good kind of person, a kind of person who believes in the rule of law, and that no one should be allowed to get away with breaking them. You act kindly towards others and you expect the same in return, you have little patience for rude and crummy people, who are selfish and opportunistic. You wish you could make the world a better place (perhaps you have) and often lament the fall of personal honor among some people. Yours is a perception that mixes old notions of honor and wisdom with modern notions of equality, practical morality and compassion. It's a great mix, and we hope you pass this kind of view to others.
