A fall in short term memory can be an indicator for many things, and so it's important to do this test focused. Shut down all audio around you and definitely all visual interference. There are many factors that can interfere with short-term memory. Thoughts, being tired or anxious, or just being too impatient to take the time to memorize. A great tips for remembering? Try saying the names of the objects in your mind over and over so you can remember the sounds as well as the visuals. Now try again and see if you do better.
