The pink hue occurs naturally in the salt flats of France's Camargue region thanks to a species of algae called Dunaliella salina. This is also the name of this photo series by Italian photographer Paolo Pettigiani. Using an aerial angle and close-ups, he draws a magical profile of the salt flats of Camargue, full of color and salt crystals.
