A picture is worth a thousand words, the famous saying goes. And it is very true, but it's also true that various pictures can give you a different amount of information. An old and damaged photograph, for example, however highly valued and cherished it may be, will not be as relatable as a colorized and restored version of it, especially for the younger generations that are so used to color photos. This is exactly the concept behind a series of beautifully restored and colorized photographs of US presidents we're about to share with you.
They have been created by a talented digital artist and photographer James Berridge, who decided to start this project after he had completed a restoration of Abraham Lincoln's photo portrait and received an incredible response from people. "I've never really been able to see Abraham Lincoln as an actual person before now," people praised him in the comments. As a result, Berridge colorized and restored over 20 portraits of presidents who had lived and served the US before color photography had been invented.
