Incredible Shots of Birds in Action: 12 Award-Winning Pics

The Audubon Photography Awards, now in its 15th year, celebrates the beauty and artistry of bird photography. The competition, organized by the National Audubon Society, is open to photographers of all skill levels.

This year's top prize went to Mathew Malwitz for his stunning portrait of two Blackburnian warblers. Liron Gertsman, last year's grand prize winner, was also recognized for his captivating photo of willow ptarmigans in flight. With over 2,300 entries from throughout North America, the contest highlighted the important relationship between birds and their habitats, underlining the urgent need to address climate change to protect these species.
