~96W a day

Though they may be switched off PCs and laptops continue to work unless you've unplugged them. This can save you up to $100 each year. Leaving your machine in standby mode can multiply this amount by 1.5.

5. Devices with a timer

Anything with a working timer indicates that the device is still on. Unplugging such an appliance will save you up to $114 a year.

Should you unplug these appliances?

While some people may think that the above sums are small, others would be impressed at how much money and energy is actually being wasted. Unplugging devices is worth it regardless, as an unforeseen power surge may leave you with burned appliances.
