8 Mobile Games that Boost Brain Power

In an era where smartphones have become an integral part of our lives, why not use them to keep our minds sharp and alert? Unlike social media apps that flood us with endless, often unhelpful information, high-quality puzzle games can turn our screen time into a challenging and beneficial experience. So we’ve gathered 8 recommended games to keep your brain active, challenge your logical thinking, and help you pass the time enjoyably. Whether you're looking for a mathematical challenge, color puzzles, or spatial riddles – there’s something here for every puzzle game enthusiast.

1. Cube Link

Your goal in this game is to connect pairs of points with the same color without having the lines overlap. On the surface, it seems simple, but the first solution that comes to mind will often turn out to be wrong, requiring you to truly think and follow a logical order to complete each level. There are 12 difficulty levels, each with 300–450 puzzles, as well as daily puzzles and timed challenges. If you enjoy this game, it can keep you entertained for a long time.

2. Ocolux

In this game, your goal is to use the ball to collect all the diamonds in each level, and you do this simply by swiping your finger across the screen to guide the ball toward the diamonds. The catch is that the ball will keep moving in the same direction until it hits a wall, requiring you to plan your moves carefully so you don't waste any. In advanced levels, dangerous traps will also appear. In each stage, you can see the minimum number of moves needed to pass, so even if you complete a level, you can always go back and try to improve your result to earn a star. Collect enough stars, and you’ll unlock additional bonus levels.

3. Matexo

If you're good at math, try this game, where your goal is to make the starting value of a path equal to the target value by using simple arithmetic operations along the way. In each level, you'll receive a set number of operations to use, and the challenge is to choose the right operations for each path, as you need to complete all the paths on the screen to advance to the next level. It becomes more complex when multiple operations need to be placed on each path.

4. Colorma

If your mind is more visual than mathematical, this game is for you. Here, you need to arrange colors in order to create a gradient – a sequence of colors transitioning smoothly, such as from dark to light. It sounds simple, and it is easy when dealing with shades of the same color. But how do you organize colors when they come in a wide array of the rainbow? That’s the challenge your brain will need to solve, and it's more fun than it sounds!

5. Orixo

This game is very simple at first glance – and it even somewhat resembles logic puzzles, so if you enjoy solving puzzles like those, this is highly recommended. Here too, numbers will appear indicating how many squares you need to fill in the grid. However, the rows and columns are not aligned numerically – for instance, if you fill 2 squares in a row, the marked squares will only count for that row and not for the intersecting column. This is the challenge – figuring out the correct sequence for filling the rows so that no numbers are left without enough squares to complete.

6. Orixo Hex

If you enjoyed the previous game and completed it, you can move on to the next level and try this version, where instead of squares, you’ll work with hexagons. Now, instead of each number having 4 possible directions of movement, you’ll need to solve puzzles with an additional dimension – 6 directions of movement. If you managed the puzzles in Orixo well, you shouldn’t have trouble handling these as well, at least at the beginning...

7. Unloop

At first, you might not fully understand what to do in this game, but give it a chance because it can be a great challenge for your mind. In each level, you’ll see several triangles with white lines coming from them, and along their path is a blue circle that turns the line blue. Your goal is to move the blue part of the line toward the blue circle by simply pressing and holding the triangle at the start of the line. It sounds simple, but if you notice that the line is dashed, it means it cannot reach its blue circle until you clear the line blocking it. And that’s just the beginning – from here, it gets more complicated and requires figuring out what to do and how.

8. Line Puzzle

All the games we’ve presented so far were a bit abstract in their visuals, but this game is much more grounded in reality. All you need to do is create the design displayed by moving strings across nails embedded in a board. While you cannot move the nails already fixed in place, a bit of imagination and spatial thinking will allow you to solve each puzzle if you put in the effort.
