Hello to the good people of 2012! We would like to thank you for all you've done this year. For the help you gave without being asked. For the love you showed for your fellow man. For your kind gestures and altruistic nature. It is so easy to forget these days those unsung heroes, those people that bring kindness into your lives when we expect it the least. The nephew of Scott Vidak. Scott has down syndrome, and his cousin, knowing Scott's love for getting letters, made sure the internet community heard about it, and got Scott enough letters for a life time, all from people wanting to wish him the best and tell him about their lives. |

The unknown benefactor who didn't want someone's day to be ruined because of an open window. |
The doctor that offered free medical treatment for Hurricane Sandy sufferes. |
Not forgetting the multitude of others who helped after that terrible hurricane. |
Or even gave freely of their own money to strangers. |
Or remembered to take care of our animals as well |
The older couple who helped the young parents out. |
This child from Libya who made a brave apology for something he didn't do. |
Then there are the parents who tatooed an insulin machine on their stomachs so their son with the diabetes won't feel so different |
The police officer who bought a homeless person some socks to wear. |
Or another police officer who had to write a poor man a ticket, but left him a $100 bill inside. |
Not forgetting the officer who took this 13 year old blind boy named Gage Stevens under his wing and help him understand what being a cop is all about, Gage's dream. |

This security guard, who asked this girl: "Excuse me princess, can I have your autograph?" and apparently has a little book full of the signatures of kids who were delighted to think he believed they were princes princesses.

These Icelandians who braved a terrible storm to rescue this sheep that got stuck and almost froze to death. |

The little girl who loves her dog no matter what, and who reminded someone why they love their job. |

The Rugby player who was allowed to bring the trophy to the hospital to cheer up a sick fan.

The community that mobilized and brought 'customers' to this 'arcade' built by this kid's own hands.

This football star who takes needy kids on a shopping spree every year, for about 20 thousand dollars worth.

The man who's dog got him to continue his life after a terrible heartache. And who holds him every day in lake to help the old dog with the pain of his arthritis.

The parents who actually thought about the other passengers on the flight and tried to minimize the disturbance as much as humanely possible.

And last but never least, the amazing couple who proved what true love really is.

We know there are millions more like these out there, beautiful moments born of beautiful human kindness. We'd like to take this moment and thank all you good people out there, you are the ones that keep this planet spinning, keep it up. |
