7 Travel Blogs Worth Reading

7 travel blogs worth reading

1. wander-lush.org
This site is led by an Australian journalist and photographer, Emily Lush, who lives in Georgia. Her main content themes are colour, culture and creativity. The site is really qualitative and aesthetic, with beautiful photographs and long, thoughtful articles. Despite being primarily concentrated in Georgia and the countries of Caucasus, Emily also publishes some materials about rarely visited locations, tips on minimalistic, mindful, and slow travelling, and so on. The «Explore» section includes subsections: global culture, responsible travel, city guides, travel itineraries, and valuable resources. The «Inspiration» section also includes cultural travel guides, food & drink, responsible tourism, and adventure subsections.

2. beyondthebucketlist.co
This blog's creators are Geena and Evan, two Americans and full-time travellers who love seeking unbeaten paths and discovering hidden gems. They offer many options for budget travellers by including prices and thoroughly describing each day's expenses. These bloggers also care for the sustainability of their travels, so it's another topic that can be learnt from this blog. In addition to articles, some videos can be found on the site. Sections include destinations (posts grouped per country), travel stories, budget travel (tips), and van life (featuring tips and road trip guides).

3. bunchofbackpackers.com
The blog's author is Manouk, a Korean girl living in the Netherlands. Her nickname is Bob, an abbreviation for a «bunch of backpackers». This blog has over 20,000 followers on social media. Manouk writes articles in English and Dutch (the site has a special section for them). The personal information section includes the map with all the 75 (!) countries she has visited and other fun facts. The site has a convenient feature — a Tag section on the right, which helps you quickly find the topic you are interested in. The blog's motto is «Your adventure. Make it count». Manouk focuses primarily on solo, outdoor travelling and off-the-beaten-track adventures. On the top of the site, there are sections — Get inspired (stories), Make a Plan (tips), and Travel the World (from here, you can go to the pages of all the visited continents and countries).

4. wingingtheworld.com
This is yet the funniest travel blog I have seen due to its author, of course. Sheree, a girl from Great Britain, describes herself as a «clueless Brit [who] seeks adventure». She admits being scared of travelling and making too many mistakes despite quite a large experience, which makes it easy to relate to her. Sheree writes relatively short articles about some impressions received at one place or another. So, her posts are rather stories than comprehensive guides, but they might be just what you seek if you would like to learn a specific piece of information or a couple of tips without fully dipping into the topic. The sections featured in «Winging the World» are Destinations, Hiking, and a unique one — Nerves & Mishaps. There, Sheree writes about the troubles she endured during her trips so that her readers could avoid them on their own.

5. nickkembel.com
Nick is a Canadian blogger and writer who has lived in Taiwan for ten years but then returned to his hometown. He lives with his family, including two children. Though most of his travels are family-oriented, you can find much more in his «Spiritual Travels» blog. In 2023, Nick launched a new site, which you can also browse — taiwanobsessed.com. As for our pick, «Spiritual travels», it should be pointed out that it is greatly organised. So, at the top of the site, there are six sections: Taiwan, Destinations (with continents as subsections), Topics (spiritual travel, travelling with kids, tea, temples, and so on), Blog, Travel tips (some articles based on Nick's personal experience), and About (information about the author and his other projects). Another thing to say about Nick's articles (mostly travel guides) is that they are very thorough and informative, with lots of self-shoot camera photos. He gives many tips about places to stay and visit and is open to expressing his opinion regarding all the events that happened during the trip.

6. yogawinetravel.com
This is a multi-themed blog devoted to travelling and Yoga (as may be apparent from the title). The author is Flo, born in China, and she started the blog in 2015. She always includes incredible photos in her posts, paying attention to some photoshooting tips both for cameras and phones. Flo is also keen on ethical and sustainable tourism, which means she is concerned about poorly treated animals, using non-reusable plastic, and so on. If you share her point of view, this blog is a great find; if not, you might revise your views. Mind that «yogawintravel» is focused on boutique and luxury travel rather than budget or backpacker travel guides. The site's main sections are Travel (hotel reviews and travel tips), Popular destinations (per country), and Yoga.

7. atastefortravel.ca
This is more than a blog — it's an online travel magazine! The people contributing to «Taste for Travel» are eight persons of different ages and gender. Each of them specialises in various destinations and activities. However, the magazine's main topics are travel and cuisine. There is even a section for recipes taken worldwide, divided into categories. Another section, Types of travel, includes Cruises & boating, Fooad & wine adventures, and Romantic getaways — whatever interests you! A traditional section — Destinations — features Mexico, the Caribbean, Central America, Europe, Canada & United States. As most of the authors come from Canada, they are primarily focused on countries located in the Western hemisphere. The articles are very detailed; however, they are a bit lengthy. If you like diving deep into the topic and fancy culinary experiments, «Taste for Travel» is a perfect option.
That is all for today's list — hopefully, you will find something you like among our picks. As soon as you receive inspiration from those cool blogs and decide on your next destination, head straight to hotelin.com and find accommodation. We provide a fast and convenient search system and plenty of options to customise your search so you may be sure of the best result possible. See you later!
