The London Symphony Orchestra is the oldest of the City of London's orchestras (yes, there are a few) and is also one of the most popular in the world. But what do the musicians and conductor see as they look out on crowds of thousands of people? Interestingly enough, the musicians in the orchestra do not look at on the crowd, but rather to the direction of the musicians that play before so that they can know when to chime in. The conductor, indeed, tends to have his eyes closed for most of the time!
