However, before you can start your fun, you have a lot of hard work to do in preparation. To help your vacation go as smoothly as possible, here are some great travel tips for everything from booking your flight to packing your bags. Some of these tips saved me a lot of misery during my travels, and I'm sure they will help you too.
If you are traveling to another country, call your credit or debit card company before you go. Make sure you are authorized to make purchases with foreign currency so that your card won't be suspended for suspicious activity. There's nothing worse than being stuck without money abroad. |

If you are going to go on a long flight or a long drive it's a good idea to go for a short run (or other forms of exercising) before leaving. This will reduce your stress and you’ll have an easier time falling asleep if you want to. |

Airlines often offer cheap upgrades to business or first class on the day of the flight, if some are still available. There may not be any upgrades available, but it’s worth a shot to ask the ground crew if you feel like pampering yourself and don’t mind paying a bit extra. |

Bring a golf ball or a tennis ball with you on your trips and roll them under your feet for a DIY foot massage. Just practice at home first, you don’t want to send balls wandering through the cabin. |

If you want to have a bottle of water with you on your flight or before it, just bring an empty water bottle in your handbag. After you are done with the security you can fill it with water. |
